Phellodendron amurense

'Amur Cork Tree'. An unusual, wide spreading, characterful, small to medium sized tree from the Far East, bearing handsome pinnate leaves, elegantly held, that turn clear yellow in autumn. Older trees develop corky bark, and, like many plants in the Rue family, the leaves are highly aromatic. Hardy and easy on most soils, even chalk.
