Photinia beauverdiana var. notabilis

An excellent but mainly unknown small hardy deciduous Chinese tree, eventually reaching a height of 6 to 9m tall with a rounded crown. Foliage emerges strongly copper-red tinted in April and a mass of hawthorn-like flowers are seen in May, followed by heads of orange-red fruits and good red autumnal foliar tints. Suited to most soils except thin chalk and fully hardy.
