Pileostegia viburnoides

A Far Eastern evergreen climber with handsomely held dark green, semi-glossy, simple foliage which is folded slightly upward, giving an attractive look in itself, but also setting off the frothy panicles of creamy-white flowers in late summer/autumn. The new foliage can be bright red tinted on emergence. Easy and floriferous, if a little slow growing, on virtually all soils in sun or shade. Can reach 6m on a suitable wall or tree trunk, but is very easy to keep much smaller, especially as it is non-rampant.
