Foliage fans into such genera as Boehmeria are going to like this. A very uncommon but hardy species from N China, Far Eastern Russia, Japan and Korea, with distinctive and striking foliage and branched heads of small lilac flowers to 1m high from summer into autumn. The leaves have a particularly interesting apex, sometimes deeply notched, but virtually always with a long drawn out tail-like tip. For sun and reasonably drained soil. Winter dormant.
