Polyspora speciosa

A large growing Camellia relative from SW China and N Vietnam with truly superb, splendidly glossy, large foliage, bearing huge white Camellia flowers with a boss of golden-yellow stamen usually 10-15cm across in autumn. Expect this to make a large shrub or small tree in cultivation. Exact hardiness unproven, but doing very well so far in many gardens. Lime free soil.
