Populus koreana

A Balsam poplar from the Korean Peninsula making only a medium sized tree with rather handsome large apple-green foliage, white beneath, that flushes with deep-red tints and bears a red midrib. Early into leaf in spring, this is a very hardy ornamental poplar, fast growing in youth, though barely known in gardens. For any reasonable soil and tolerant of wet or boggy conditions.
