Populus lasiocarpa ‘Bath Magna’

Named here at Pan Global', this form is derived from a tree in Bath, which is by far the largest known in the UK and far straighter and stronger than one usually sees in this species in the UK. An ornamental medium sized Chinese tree with huge leaves often up to 30cm long, with conspicuous red veins and leaf stalks and in this clone the whole leaf emerging with good red tints. For any reasonably soil not prone to excessive drought, this is tolerant of permanently sodden conditions also.
