From the mountains of Japan and Korea, this very hardy summer flowering species makes a medium to large evergreen shrub, up to 3m tall in ideal conditions. Creamy-white flushed pink flowers are borne in June-July and the foliage has a fawn or brownish indumentum beneath. For acid soil in semi-shade or full sun if cool and moist.
