Rhododendron cinnabarinum subsp. xanthocodon

A medium to large sized evergreen shrub from the Himalaya with relatively small blue-green leaves and clusters of waxy, yellow, funnel- to bell-shaped flowers in May and June. A fine species, especially in this form which is very resistant to powdery mildew. For acid soil with reasonable shelter.
