Rhododendron mucronulatum

A very hardy deciduous Far Eastern species, making a very pretty and useful medium sized, rounded, hardy deciduous shrub, bearing its vivid purple-pink flowers on bare stems in February/March along with the snowdrops or Daffs; what could be nicer? Slim short foliage, making for a dainty look in summer. Acid soil in the garden, or in a pot of ericaceous compost.
