A rarely offered early fruiting form of Buffalo currant from N. America, making a very hardy and easy small shrub to about 1m, with pendulous clusters of deliciously sweet, clove-scented bicoloured flowers, yellow with red throats and red tubes, in spring. The clusters of delicious black fruit with amber flesh are seen earlier than any other form of the species, in summer. Foliage is deeply lobed and rich green, colouring well in autumn with tones of orange and red. Easy on most soils in sun or semi-shade. Drought tolerant.
