Ribes odoratum ‘Gwen’s Buffalo’

A new highly floriferous form of Buffalo currant from N. America, making a very hardy and easy small shrub to about 1m, with pendulous clusters of deliciously sweet, clove-scented bicoloured flowers, yellow with red throats and red tubes, in spring. The clusters of delicious black fruit with amber flesh are heavily set in this form of the species, in summer. Foliage is deeply lobed and rich green, colouring well in autumn in shades of orange and red. Easy on most soils in sun or semi-shade. Drought tolerant and tough.
