One of the finest of the genus for foliage, the Armenian burnet bears large blue-green leaves with each leaflet lined with jagged teeth, recalling Melianthus major. A hardy herbaceous spreading perennial with flowering stems to 1m high, holding drooping white catkin-like flowers from deep-red buds in summer. For any reasonable soil, not too bone dry, in sun or semi-shade. Hardy.
