Schefflera glabrescens

Very closely related to S. rhododendrifolia and often confused with it in cultivation, this is also from the Himalaya and is one of the hardiest species. It has similar foliage though lacks the obvious hairiness of the former. The leaflets are also distinctly lobed when plants are young. A large shrub or small tree for a sheltered site and reasonably well drained soil, not dry. Sun or semi-shade.
