Bomarea caldasii – hardy Ecuadorean form

A South American, herbaceous twining climber resembling, and closely related to Alstroemeria, growing 2m + high. Clusters of tubular flowers, borne at the ends of the shoots in summer, are vibrant orange-red on the outside with a paler interior flecked brown. This hardy form from Ecuador is a good do-er in the UK. Mulch over in winter.
