Centaurea nigra ‘Waterfall White’

Found on a Staffordshire farm, this is a pure white flowered form of our native Common Knapweed. Naturally found in grassland on a wide variety of soils from free-drained calcareous meadows to acid clay, this can be naturalised in such, or grown in a garden border where it will reach greater proportions than in the wild. Height to 1.2m if happy, much shorter if starved in grassland. Sunny position. Tough.
