Crataegus tanacetifolia ‘Konya’

A Turkish selected form of one of the prettiest of the genus, the Tansy-leaved thorn from Asia Minor is also a tough little drought tolerant tree, well suited to a warming climate. Makes a slow growing, small, usually thornless, mop-headed tree with deeply incised grey-downy foliage. Masses of creamy white flower in early summer, followed by a heavy set of conspicuous crab apple sized, red tinged yellow, turning coral-orange large edible tasty haws that last into winter. Very hardy and easy in sun or semi-shade in most soils, light or heavy. Eventually reaching about 5m.
