Dacrycarpus dacrydioides – hardy form

Once thought tender, this species grows in various fairly cold locations in the UK where it has endured intense cold. Besides, the form I grow and propagate has been hardy to -14c outside, frozen solid in a pot through the mega winter of December 2010! An individual, distinctive and attractive small tree in the UK where it forms a conical crown of slim branches and very small, narrow, two ranked, spirally arranged, brown tinted leaves.
