Hedychium greenii NJM 13.086

Originally from Manipur, NE India, this is different from the standard clone in cultivation and has less colour on the underside of the slightly broader leaves. Shortish heads of fairly large and flamboyant slightly lighter orange-red flowers are seen late in the season and for this reason it's best to keep it as a pot plant, though it's really rather hardy in the ground if mulched over for winter. Best in a warm summer position. Deciduous outside, but evergreen if overwintered frost-free.

Pot size: 2L
