Miscanthus x giganteus

A very, very big grass, with an appearance not dissimilar to sugar cane. Huge clumps potentially up to 4m tall but more often about 3.5m, with arching foliage billowing out from the strong vertical stems. Sun or light shade and not too dry in summer. Can grow in running water or ordinary soil. An arresting backdrop or statement plant and excellent as an elegant summer screen. Hardy.
