Collected originally on the Cangshan, Yunnan, SW China at 2470m this promises to be hardy in the UK. A Tibouchina relative with terminal heads of vivid purple-pink flowers, each with a highly conspicuous set of long bright yellow stamen at their centres, borne in summer. Handsome foliage has impressed longitudinal veins. A subshrub, dying to the ground each year and making stems to 1m.
