Quercus serrata

Rarely encountered in the UK, this makes a small to medium sized, slow growing tree here, up to 20m eventually, with rugged bark and potentially excellent bright-red autumn colour. The leaves are up to 18cm long, margined with gland-tipped teeth, bright green above and pale greyish-white beneath. From the Far East.
