Schefflera shweliensis NJM 13.130

Very closely related to S. taiwaniana, this rarity hails from the Eastern Himalaya and these were found at high altitude in Nagaland, NE India. Superb trees to approx. 20m high are found in the wild, with beautiful glossy evergreen foliage usually bearing nine leaflets, but this will make a much smaller tree in the UK. Hardly any plants are grown anywhere, so ultimate hardiness is unknown.
