Sorbus caloneura

This hardy Chinese species deserves wider planting in the UK. The very early flushing new foliage in spring emerges red and is totally immune to frost. Masses of creamy-white flowers in spring followed by small brown globular fruit. A distinctive, low, wide spreading small tree with a flattened crown, for any reasonable soil.
