Acer crataegifolium

Genuine material of a rarely seen Japanese species, grown for its elegant habit, smaller size and autumn colour. A snake-bark maple with white striated green bark , an upright arching crown shape, drooping clusters of mustard-yellow flowers in spring and variably shaped small leaves turning yellow with red tints in autumn. Hardy.
