Acer griseum

The Paper Bark Maple, hardly needing an introduction, is one of the most desirable of all small trees with a very long season of interest. Highly attractive cinnamon-orange or mahogany-cinnamon bark peeling off in thin papery pieces, and fine, yellow, orange and red autumn colour are its principal attractions. Very hardy, tolerant and easy, even on thin chalky soils, this makes a perfectly formed small tree with a rounded crown. Not fast, but lovely even when young.
