Acer laevigatum

An evergreen species, native from the Himalaya to China, bearing long slim oblong-lanceolate lustrous green foliage, sometimes with a slight glaucous hue, red-tinted on emergence, making for an unusual and attractive maple. Forming a small tree, best sited with shelter from NE winds and away from inland frost pockets. Rated RHS H4 for hardiness, with a minimum of -10c, this is generally hardy through most winters in the UK and especially so in milder areas.
