A small upright tree of elegant form and excellent foliage, hailing from the highest peak in Indochina, Fan Si Pan, this was collected originally and incorrectly as A. campbellii var. fansipanense. Particularly handsome in leaf with broad 3 to 5 lobed leaves on red petioles, each lobe beautifully drawn out. These flush bronze in spring and assume shades of orange and gold in autumn. Best sited in a sheltered position like open woodland where it will be hardy throughout most of the UK.
