Endemic to E. Texas, this natural variety of the Ohio Buckeye, an American Horse Chestnut relative, is smaller growing, reaching only large shrub to small tree size with very neat and highly attractive foliage, composed of very slim leaflets and doing a darned fine impression of Cannabis. The foliage often turns orange-crimson in late September; very early for autumn colour. Flowers are greenish-yellow in May. Tough and easy in most soils in sun or semi-shade.
