Aesculus glabra ‘Herkenrode’

Ohio Buckeye. This American Horse Chestnut relative is a much more diminutive tree with much smaller, much neater, far more attractive foliage, turning orange-crimson in late September in this selected form from Belgium; very early for autumn colour. A small to medium sized very hardy tree, for virtually any soil or site in sun or semi-shade. Flowers are greenish-yellow in May.
