Ampelopsis glandulosa var. heterophylla

A rare variety of a vigorous deciduous hardy climber from the Far East, mainly grown for the exceptional autumnal fruit display. The polymorphic foliage is remarkably variable even on the same plant, with leaves either broadly heart-shaped and not lobed at all, sometimes slightly three-lobed, sometimes deeply three or five lobed. However, the main glory of this species is the autumn display of amethyst to sky-blue pea sized fruit, which are most readily seen if the plant is grown in full sun.
