Angelica japonica

Yet another fully perennial species from Asia with very much the look of a coastal species, with shiny salt-wind resistant leaves, this is also completely hardy and perfectly suited to life inland. From coastal areas of Central and Southern Japan, this makes a mound of glossy deep-green compound foliage to 45cm tall and 1m across and in July-August 1.5m tall stems are bedecked with large, flat white umbels. For sun or semi-shade and any not overly dry soil.
