Aralia bipinnata

Tried and tested here and very hardy, even through extreme cold. The parent of these was originally collected in Taiwan, at altitude, and has made a fine upright large shrub to about 3m, with formidably armed stems and huge bipinnate foliage composed of masses of small leaflets. Large upright branched heads of white flower top the plants in autumn. Sun or semi-shade.
