Aucuba himalaica var. dolichophylla

Relatively recently introduced from Sichuan, China, this large hardy evergreen shrub is distinctive in its long and very slim taper-pointed evergreen foliage, speckled with yellow. The inflorescences are dark purple-red with creamy white anthers, seen in April. Plant in shade to avoid yellowing foliage, where it will be very drought tolerant.
