Begonia edulis OJ10-VN140

Found by American plantsman Ozzie Johnson in Far NE Vietnam, near the Chinese border, this very distinct form of the already impressive B. edulis has particularly numerous red bristles across its big broad well-lobed foliage, catching the light at sharp angles, especially when backlit. Pink flowers shyly hang out amongst the leaves, but they are basically an irrelevance. Hardiness untested, but will probably be hardy in many parts of the UK with reasonable drainage and a good winter mulch. For shade and open humusy soil.
