Betula albosinensis ‘Chinese Garden’

The second form selected for its bark qualities from an Ernest Wilson collection growing at Werrington, Cornwall. The rich pinkish to orange-brown bark is darker than 'Bowling Green', the other selection from that garden, and peels to show orange undersides which glow with low back lighting. Makes an easy and hardy fast growing medium sized tree for most soils. Best as a group planting, either very close or spread wider, but just one is gorgeous.
