Betula ermanii ‘Grayswood Hill’

This birch is one of the finest for all year bark and trunk interest, with naturally heavier lower branching than many other Betula, making a rounded crown. The stem or stems are rich cream with naturally shedding bark peeling off in little strips. The new foliage is orangey-red on expansion, green for the summer, then turning in autumn to a very reliable rich-yellow. One of the most ornamental of all birch and best planted as a group, so as to enjoy as much bark as possible. Hardy and easy in most sites and soils.
