A very richly coloured new form from wild Chinese seed, most desired by those that have seen it. The bark is dark purplish-red-brown, heavily banded with white lenticels and the papery peelings are semi-translucent burnt-orange. One of the fine newer generation of birch cultivars with exceptional bark colour.
