A large shrub to small tree with spectacular foliage related to Macleaya that we introduced from Mexico back in 2006. I have great hopes that this will behave as a generally hardy herbaceous plant here, like a Melianthus, dying back in winter and growing strongly from the base each year, as it does after a freeze in California. This is a fab foliage plant with large, deeply-lobed, blue-green leaves with a silvery-grey underside often with a slightly orangey-pink wash. Very tropical looking. It can also of course be grown as a potted woody specimen, overwintered frost free.
