Boehmeria aff. japonica ‘Shikoku’

A rather splendid foliage plant we found in the wilds of Japan once upon a time, forming a multistemmed clump up to at least 150cm tall, bearing sizable foliage, larger than most species, with a deeply dentate margin and a double deeply notched apex. A non stinging member of the Urticaceae family. Hardy in the ground here for a number of years, enjoying shade to semi-shade and soil that doesn't get overly dry.
