Buddleja agathosma

One of the finest of all Buddleja for foliage, with very sweetly scented lilac flowers in terminal panicles, produced way before most other species in spring. Tall and very free growing with striking, large, semi-pendulous, white-felted well toothed foliage, this makes a large deciduous shrub. Best against a warm wall in case of a bad winter, though sustained no damage whatsoever here in the cold of Jan/Feb 09 at -14c. Now sunk under B. crispa by taxonomists, but it is quite different from the 'typical' form in cultivation.
