Buddleja colvilei ‘Kewensis’

A unique species amongst hardy Buddlejas, from the Himalaya; the individual flowers being by far the largest in the genus and held in drooping panicles in June. A vigorous deciduous large shrub for a sunny position, sheltered when young. B. colvilei is often grown against a sunny wall in case of a freak, exceptionally cold winter, but 'Kewensis' is considered the hardiest clone of the species (RHS H5: -10c to -15c) and bears exceptionally coloured deep pink-red flowers which generally lack the pale throat of other clones.
