Calocedrus formosana

Rare in cultivation, this is endemic to Taiwan where it makes very large trees with an open branch habit. Here it will only make a small tree and is possibly best suited to milder areas, though is doing very well at Kew and Hillier from plantings pre 2010, so considering the depth of cold and damage caused in that winter to many tender plants it would seem very much worth trialling further afield.
