Cardiocrinum giganteum var. yunnanense BO 16024

A collection from China of the marvellous Giant lily producing, when ready, a giant scape of deliciously scented creamy-white lily flowers, stained purple in the throat, in early summer. In this Chinese variety the contrasting flower stems are stained almost black, to about 2m high, and the young heart shaped leaves also tinged bronze. Cool, rich, humusy soil in part shade.
