Cercidiphyllum japonicum ‘Plum Custard’

A new clone, selected named and released here. In this exceptional form the green foliage takes on deep plum-purple colouring in late summer. In autumn the leaves start to turn yellow from the inside of the crown whilst the outer foliage is still purple, making a most unusual display. The leaves emit a sugary fragrance as per normal as they fall. A medium sized deciduous hardy tree of great elegance. Any normal soil in most areas, but in the SE aim for moisture retentive soils.
