Cercis chinensis NJM 11.047

Collected in Guizhou, China where it was a roadside tree. Unseen in flower, but this will bear a mass of bright to deep pink flowers emerging in May. Largish heart-shaped, glossy green leaves with a slightly rolled margin, making them look thicker than they are, turn to soft peachy shades in autumn. Makes a small tree eventually. For a sunny position; hardy.
