Cercis gigantea

Closely related to C. chinensis this is faster growing, with much larger foliage. The largest specimen in the UK grows near here and went unnoticed, as C. chinensis, for decades and is now a wide crowned medium size tree. Pale pink pea flowers are borne on the bare branches in early spring. A questionable taxon and possibly just a very large leaved form of C. chinensis.
