Cercis griffithii from Tajikistan

The 'Afghan Judas Tree', also from surrounding countries in South Central Asia, is very closely related to C. siliquastrum, but VERY rarely seen in cultivation and scarce in the wild state also. It has an equal display of purple-pink pea flowers that cover the branches in spring, followed by very unusual pale-grey reniform leaves. A very drought and heat tolerant hardy large shrub or small tree.
