Cinnamomum japonicum BCJMMT 327

A very rarely encountered hardier relation of the Camphor tree that is barely known in UK cultivation, though has proven very hardy in the USA. An evergreen large shrub or even small tree eventually (perhaps just a shrub in the UK with cooler summers) with elegantly held, drooping, handsomely three-veined rich-green foliage, glaucous beneath and emerging pink-tinged. A success in the few gardens that have grown it in the UK, even as far north as very cool coastal Northumberland.
