Colocasia gaoligongensis

A superb exotic foliage plant and the hardiest Taro, growable outside across the UK, even without a mulch in milder winters. Just mulch over in winter if you are very cold or just hyper-cautious. Big shield-shaped leaves with a matt surface and subtle black markings between the veins on emergence, turning green with just a purple-black 'belly button' in the centre. Fairly large warm-yellow aroid flowers in summer. Forms a good patch by stolons. Moist soil in sun or shade. Height to 75cm and leaves to at least 40cm long.

Pot size: 2L
